Mansa musa came into power in 1312

Many european countries were in famine and were in civil war but many european companies were thriving. When mansa musa was in power he expanded his kingdom it stretched over 2000 miles in 1324.

He made his pilgrimage to mecca and he didn’t do it cheaply. He traveled in a caravan as far as the eye can see. He spent and donated so much gold it caused mass inflation, It took years to recover from the currency crisis. He urbanized timbuktu by building buildings, mosques, and a major university. After 25 years in power, Mansa Musa died in 1337.
